Acer announced a new set of products within the ENDURO lineup this week, one meant for rugged devices. It’s called ENDURO Urban and it’s made for “both work and play on and off the road”. It comes with IP53 certification and MIL-STD-810H as well.
This new range includes two new devices, the ENDURO Urban T1 and ENDURO Urban N3. T1 is a 10 inch Android tablet with Android 10 Go edition, meaning it’s pretty low power. It’s got a quad core processor, a 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution and it all weighs 595 grams. It measures 9.8 mm in thickness and it’s meant to be more rugged than the average tablet. It’s made of shock absorbent materials and has reinforced bumper areas, plus covers for ports, to keep them away from water.
There’s the promise of 450 nits of brightness, The CPU is a MediaTek MT8167A and we’ve also got a 6000 mAh battery with up to 8 hours of video playback promised.
Then we have the ENDURO Urban N3, a 14 inch laptop that has a similar design approach, with a rugged design and reinforced bumpers. In spite of that it’s not very bulky or big. It weighs 1.85 kilograms and measures 21.95 mm in thickness. It comes with up to an 11th gen Intel Core i7 processor and up to NVIDIA GeForce MX330 graphics. You can configure the device with up to 1 TB of SSD storage and 32 GB of DDR4 RAM. The screen is a LCD with LED backlight and ComfyView tech. Stereo speakers are also here, plus HDMI and 4 USB ports. It has a 3 cell battery.
The laptop starts at $799, but the T1 doesn’t seem to be ready to appear in stores.
