Microsoft is in full swing, with the whole RTX Spark thing from Computex and now it’s also working on a new Surface Pro. They’ve just unveiled a new Surface Laptop, but now they’re prepping a Snapdragon-based 13 inch Surface Pro.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 13 is said to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Elite this time around. It’s one of the versionw with 12 Prime Oryon Cores. Meanwhile, the Surface Laptop Ultra runs on NVIDIA RTX Spark and the Surface Laptop 8 runs on Intel Core Ultra Series 3 chips. Back to the new Surface Pro, it’s said to also feature 32 GB of RAM, soldered variety and a PCIe 3.0 SSD.

The tablet can be configured with 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB of storage, but the SSD is replaceable. The screen is actually a shocker: it’s an OLED with support for the Surface Slim Pen. There’s also an optional Surfae Pro 13 inch FlexKeyboard, that can work in laptop mode, attached to the tablet or via wireless connection. The device comes with two USB-C 4.0 ports, that handle charging, data transfer and video output.
For AI we have the Hexagon NPU, that promises up to 80 TOPS of compute (INT8), that powers quite a few AI apps. Since it’s an ARM machine, it also offers x86 emulation. The battery promises a lot of usage time, as usual for a Snapdragon machine, with no less than 15.5 hours of video playback. The device is available in 3 colors: black, platinum and dune. Expect a release on June 16th.
