There was a time when ASUS was kicking down doors, when it came to tablets, inaugurating and innovating the whole segment. I mean putting out Transformer Pads, PadFones and other such wonders. Now they’re back at Computex 2026 with a brand new ASUS Pad, that features a Tandem OLED display.
It’s interesting for me to see ASUS going back to tablets, considering they’ve exited the smartphone biz. We’re dealing with a 12.2 incher here and this ASUS Pad uses a dual layer OLED display with a 2.8K resolution and a gaming-focused refresh rate of 144 Hz. The tandem technology, aka the dual layer one uses two OLED emission layers, that improve brightness, power efficiency and panel lifespan compared to traditional OLEDs.

The display also covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and goes up to 600 nits in brightness. Inside we find a midrange CPU offering, the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 chipset, with a 4 nm tech. There’s also a rather modest 8 GB of RAM, at least it’s LPDDR5X, plus up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Storage expansion is available for up to 1 TB via microSD. Then there’s a quad speaker system, with Dolby Atmos and a 9000 mAh battery that charges at 45W.

Software-wise, the tablet runs on Android 16, with some AI powered features included. Circle to Search is here, Gemini is well integrated and ASUS GlideX supports screen sharing, file transfers and cross device workflows. Finally there’s a 13 MP back camera, Wi-Fi 6e, a 5 MP front cam with Face Login.
Sadly we don’t have a price, but we do have design details: 6.5 mm waistline and a weight of 523 grams. It uses a magnesium chassis paired with a fiberglass back cover.
