The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is now closer to launch than ever and its first firmwares have been made available on sammobile.com/firmware. They’re dedicated to Middle East countries, in case you’re wondering.
The Galaxy Note 10.1 was first announced at MWC 2012 and back then it had a dual core CPU, then it got Android 4.0.4 and a quad core processor, plus a stylus slot. The only thing that didn’t change from the original version is the 10.1 inch TFT 1280 x 800 pixel display, supporting 16 million colors. Some still hope that the device will get a Full HD display.
The device sports an S Pen and a 1.4 GHz quad core processor, most likely an Exynos one. The build date for the firmware is July 20 and it’s all based on ICS instead of Jelly Bean. One can only imagine, in horror how long Samsung will take this time to update its tablet. The Galaxy Tab units from 2011 are still struggling to get ICS…
