Samsung’s next flagship tablets are already signaling their arrival. Fresh entries in the GSMA device database confirm two upcoming high-end slates — Galaxy Tab S12+ and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra — suggesting that development is well underway and that Samsung is preparing another strategic switch inside its premium tablet family.

This time, there’s no mention of a standard Tab S12. Instead, Samsung appears to be moving forward with only the Plus and Ultra tiers, echoing the structure used during the Tab S10 generation. The identifiers SM-X846 (Tab S12+) and SM-X946 (Tab S12 Ultra) leave little doubt about which models are in the pipeline.

The timing aligns with Samsung’s typical tablet rhythm. The Galaxy Tab S11 series arrived in September 2025, so a late-summer 2026 launch window looks likely. Samsung rarely deviates from this schedule, and the S12 lineup seems positioned to follow the same pattern. In previous years, flagship tablets have occasionally shared a launch stage with the Galaxy S FE phone of the year, so a joint appearance with the Galaxy S26 FE is on the table.

Pricing expectations sit close to the S11 range. If Samsung is indeed skipping the base model, the Tab S12+ would naturally fall between the standard and Ultra categories, potentially arriving in 256GB and 512GB configurations. Holiday-season deals from major retailers and Samsung’s own pre-order bonuses should also play a role later in the year, as they typically do.

Design is one area where Samsung likely won’t feel pressure to change much. The Tab S line is already in a strong place: flat, modern, and premium, with slim frames and sturdy builds that echo Samsung’s flagship phones. The S12 family should continue that aesthetic, pairing thin chassis with lightweight materials and the company’s established industrial design language.

Displays are also expected to stay consistent. Samsung’s formula for its slates is well-loved: 11 inches for the Tab S12, 12.4 inches for the Tab S12+, and 14.6 inches for the Tab S12 Ultra, all using Dynamic AMOLED panels with 120Hz refresh rates and Samsung’s trademark color accuracy. Higher peak brightness feels like the only plausible upgrade.

Battery capacities are unlikely to jump significantly due to the fixed internal space. Current estimates place the S12 lineup at 8,400 mAh (Tab S12), 10,090 mAh (Tab S12+), and 11,600 mAh (Tab S12 Ultra). Charging is expected to remain capped at 45W, keeping Samsung’s power profile consistent across its premium lineup. Hardware expectations sit around Samsung’s next-gen premium silicon — Exynos 2500 or Dimensity 9500 — paired with 12GB RAM, positioning the Tab S12 family as productivity-ready devices with plenty of overhead.
