UTOK is a Romanian company that just debuted today a new East European slate with Android on board, a dual core Intel CPU and Android KitKat. The new model is the UTOK i700, that has been created in partnership with Foxconn, with the ODM being Langma LM793H.

The product is priced at just $92 and there’s also an UTOK i700 Ultra model, that comes with an extra 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. Also on show was the UTOK i800 unit, an 8 inch slate with Windows 8.1, but this one will come in July. Back to the main guest, the UTOK i700 packs a 7 inch display with a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution, that was to be expected, considering the price tag.

Inside the device there’s an Intel Atom Z2520 1.2 GHz processor, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of storage and a PowerVR SGX522MP2 GPU, plus a microSD card slot. There’s a 2 MP back camera and a front 0.3 MP shooter. UTOK i700 packs a Li-Polymer 3000 mAh battery, that should provide up to 5 hours of use. There’s Android 4.4 KitKat as the preinstalled OS and the product will start selling this week in local shops.
