Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, the current high end Android tablet in the company’s portofolio debuted in July last year and now it’s getting a slightly updated model. Refreshed versions of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 have gone on sale in Germany already, via Cyberport.de.
The starting price is 449 euros and the Galaxy Tab S2 new gen comes with a 64 bit octa core Snapdragon 652 CPU, instead of the Exynos 5433 of the original unit. While CPU performance is improved, the GPU one drops. The new version runs Android 6.0.1 out of the box and its design and measurements stay the same. We’ve got a Super AMOLED display in the mix with a 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution, an 8 megapixel main camera and 2.1 MP front shooter.
The slate brings 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage and a microSD card slot, as well as dual band WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1 and a fingerprint scanner. The WiFi only Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 (SM-T813N) is priced at 449 euros, while the LTE one (SM-T819N) goes for 549 euros. The Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 new model only comes in LTE version for now, at 479 euros (SM-T719N).
We expect a broader release soon enough.
