Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is expected to be the next big tablet flagship, probably coming this Fall, around the time of IFA 2026. It has already leaked in animations from One UI 9.0, that finally bring some good news: the ugly notch is gone.
Samsung is bringing the punch hole to the Tab S12 series, at last. Samsung has had a weird relationship with punch holes. They had one on the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and they quickly got rid of it and hid the selfie camera below the screen. They put a notch on the Tab S series for largest models and now they’re ready to go back on the decision. Even Apple got rid of the notch on MacBooks and iPads…

Now there are hints regarding the punch hole in the One UI 9.0 beta firmware. The same sotware includes two design versions: one with the cutout on the long edge and another on the shorter edge, just like the phones adapt when you rotate them. The animations weren;’t present in One UI 8.5, based on Android 16, so it seems like there’s something fresh here.
Currently, the Tab S11 Ultra and Tab S10 Ultra rely on a notch for the front camera and it seems it’s time to go with a punch hole. Specs? Probably the latest MediaTek Dimensity CPU, 12 GB of RAM and an S-Pen with new features. 10.000 mAh for the battery is a given.
