Samsung is getting ready to refresh its flagship Android tablet lineup, with the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S12+ expected to debut in the coming weeks. Now, what appears to be the first official press render of the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra has leaked, and Samsung seems to be sticking very closely to last year’s formula.
The low-resolution image shows a tablet that could easily be mistaken for the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra. Samsung has apparently kept the huge 14.6-inch display, very slim bezels and, perhaps most importantly, the small U-shaped notch positioned along the long edge of the screen. Earlier rumors suggested Samsung could finally replace it with a more discreet punch-hole camera, but the new render indicates that won’t happen this generation.
The back is equally familiar. Two cameras are positioned individually in the upper corner, while the leaked image also confirms S Pen support. The stylus itself doesn’t appear to have received any obvious visual changes either. Samsung seems happy with the clean, utilitarian design it has been refining over the past few generations rather than attempting a major redesign.
Most of the meaningful changes should therefore happen inside. Previous leaks point to MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM and at least 256GB of storage. A microSD card slot is also expected to survive, something increasingly rare among premium mobile devices. The tablet should ship with One UI 9.0 and could receive seven major Android OS upgrades.
Don’t expect a major battery upgrade, though. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is rumored to retain the same 11,600mAh capacity as its predecessor, along with 45W wired charging. The 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel could also return largely unchanged. Two rear cameras remain visible in the new render, although their specifications haven’t leaked yet.
There are a few additional signs that the launch is getting close. The Galaxy Tab S12 series has already appeared in the Google Play Console, where Wi-Fi and 5G versions were confirmed, while Bluetooth SIG certification arrived earlier this month.
Samsung itself has only confirmed that the Galaxy Tab S12 family will launch during the second half of 2026.
