Portonics has expanded its tablet lineup with a slate for little kids. The Ruffpad Kids comes with a cute design and it offers the option to do colorful doodles. There are 3 animal themed models in the series: the Dino 8.5, Teddy 8.5, PupX 10.
We’re dealing with reusable digital canvases for drawing, doodling and handwriting practice. Everything done in order to save some paper. All 3 models come with multicoor LCD screens, that respond to styly, creating rainbow-colored lines based on the pressure. There’s also basic eye protection included, as these displays emit no blue light. Portonics has also included quality of life features: a one tap erase button to clear the screen, as well as a physical screen lock toggle to prevent accidental deletion.
The RuffPad Dino 8.5 and Teddy 8.5 come with 8.5 inch screens, as their names show. The Dino has a dinosaur shaped chassis and runs on a replaceable CR2016 coin cell battery. The Teddy version adopts a bear-inspired design and increases the size to a CR2025 battery. Finally, the ruffpad PupX 10 packs a larger, 10 inch screen and it’s all shaped like a puppy with floppy ears, for easier carrying.
Portonics is also offering a companion app dubbed Ruffpad App. It’s availalble on iOS and Android and it lets parents scan, save and share their kids’ notes and doodles before the physical screen is wiped.
Pricing
The RuffPad Dino 8.5 is available for a mere 5d ollars, while the Teddy 8.5 goes for $6.26. The PupX is available fo4 $7.83. All 3 models have 12 months of warranty and are sold now via the Portonics site, Amazon India and Flipkart.
