During a pre-CES developer conference, AT&T and Qualcomm executives are going to discuss LTE Windows 8 tablets, so it appears that the carrier and chipmaker will be actively involved in the creation and evolution of the Microsoft slates. AT&T plans on grabbing as many exclusivities as it can, when it comes to Windows 8 tablets and help Microsoft out if possible.

The carrier that was once famous for selling the iPhone exclusively will hold a Developer Summit on January 8 and 9 in Las Vegas, before CES debuts. The schedule of these meetings will include a Windows 8 tablet session, focused on Snapdragon devices, working on 4G LTE wireless networks. LTE is the key word here and Qualcomm will also get a speaker or two to discuss the power of their Snapdragon chip and how developers can take advantage of it.

Speakers at the event include AT&T’s Jon Sharp, who is a member of a team that manages third party development partner relationships for all device types (tablets, notebooks, USB data cards included). Lauren Thorpe, Senior Director of developer relations for Qualcomm will also be present. Nobody from Microsoft seems to be on this list, but as long as there’s a new Windows 8 tablet present and hands on vids appear on the web afterwards, I’m happy…
