Samsung is stepping up its game this year with two Fan Edition tablets—Galaxy Tab S10 FE and Tab S10 FE+—both promising significant performance improvements over last year’s models.
While the Galaxy Tab S10 FE isn’t necessarily a powerhouse, it’s a major leap from its underwhelming predecessor, the Tab S9 FE, which struggled with the Exynos 1380 chipset. This mid-range processor was widely seen as the weak link in an otherwise premium-looking tablet (including its price tag). Now, Samsung appears to have learned from past mistakes, equipping the Tab S10 FE with the new Exynos 1580 chipset and 8GB of RAM (with an expected 12GB/256GB variant as well).
Early Geekbench listings reveal that the Tab S10 FE scores 1,349 in single-core and 3,882 in multi-core tests—a 33% to 41% performance jump over the Tab S9 FE (1,010 and 2,748 points, respectively). While this marks a substantial improvement, it still falls short of the flagship Galaxy Tab S9, powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which scores 2,250 in single-core and 5,200 in multi-core benchmarks.
Display, Battery, and Features
According to early leaks, the Galaxy Tab S10 FE will feature:
– 10.9-inch LCD display with a 2304 x 1440 resolution
– 13MP rear camera, 12MP front-facing camera
– 8,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging
– Wi-Fi 6E, 5G connectivity, GPS, Bluetooth 5.4
– IP68 dust and water resistance
– Samsung S Pen support
The Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ offers nearly identical specs but bumps the screen size to 13.1 inches and increases the battery to 10,090mAh.
Pricing and Expected Launch
The previous Galaxy Tab S9 FE series launched in October 2023, while the standard Tab S10 series debuted in September 2024. That makes the timing of the Tab S10 FE series a bit unusual, as it’s somewhat late for an FE launch but early considering the Tab S10 just launched. Sources suggest Samsung may delay the launch until April.
Pricing for the Wi-Fi models has already surfaced:
– Galaxy Tab S10 FE (8GB/128GB) – €459
– Galaxy Tab S10 FE (12GB/256GB) – €529
– Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ (8GB/128GB) – €599
– Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ (12GB/256GB) – €699
5G variants will cost extra, but pricing details for those models remain unclear.
How It Stacks Up
The Galaxy Tab S10 FE series is shaping up to be a solid upgrade over its predecessor, particularly in terms of processing power and software enhancements. While it still can’t match Samsung’s flagship Tab S10 lineup, it could be an appealing option for those who want a mid-range Android tablet with premium features at a lower price.
With leaks and benchmark scores already circulating, expect Samsung’s official announcement soon.
