The Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 has been no stranger to leaks, as the tablet has popped up in a few places already, with talk of multiple versions going on. What’s certain is that Xiaomi is definitely ready to get back into the tablet biz and it’s now shy of teasing it. Today we get new leaks in that regard.
The latest report surfaced online mentions that the Mi Pad 5 will come with an angular design, or better said a “right angled edge design for the screen”, similar to the iPad Pro one. The source also mentions a 120 Hz IPS LCD screen, fingerprint scanner to the side, plus a very slim and light chassis. We’ve heard previously that the tablet is going to sport a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor, while a Mi Pad 5 Pro will pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor. There’s also the promise of a Quad HD display resolution.
We also get a dual cell 4260 mAh battery, by the way, which sure sounds like codename for very fast charging. The Mi Pad 5 doesn’t have a launch date yet, but we did learn some hints about a July debut. The price should be around $470. I expect at least 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage on board, a microSD card slot and quad speakers wouldn’t hurt. Xiaomi already worked with Harman/Kardon on the Mi 11, so using their technology here should be a no brainer.
