Redmi has confirmed it will hold a big event later this month in China and it will see the debut of the Redmi K90 Max, but also a tablet, the Redmi K Pad 2 and a bunch of new laptops. We get to see some teasers for the new tablet below.
The Redmi K Pad 2 packs an 8.8 inch display, which seems to be the trend now. Huawei has the MatePad Mini, Lenovo has a bunch of Legion gaming tablets and then there’s the iPad Mini. The new Redmi tablet is expected to bring a metal unibody construction, for a premium and sturdy feel. The rear design is cleaner than the predecessor’s and uses a simplified camera module, with no decorative strip.
The Power button has been moved to the right side, which should improve accessibility during landscape use. The button should also include a fingerprint scanner. The product will be available in 3 shades: Deep Black, Spotlight Purple and Space Silver. Specs will include an 8.8 inch LCD panel with 165 Hz refresh rate and a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor, plus a 9100 mAh battery.
Dual X axis motors will include improved haptic feedback and we also have a dual tuner speaker setup for enhanced audio experience. Keep in mind that last year the Redmi K Pad was rebranded as the Xiaomi Pad Mini on the global market, so it’s likely we’ll get a Xiaomi Pad Mini 2 from this one.
