Samsung’s latest flagship tablet, the Galaxy Tab S6 is expanding its availability by entering the Taiwanese market this week. The device is priced at $729 on this market and starts selling from September 16th.
The device was announced earlier this summer and comes with a 10.5 inch Super AMOLED screen and a surprisingly powerful CPU choice, the Snapdragon 855. It also has 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. There’s a new way to stow a stylus on board, by hooking it up magnetically to the back side.
There’s also HDR10 support here and optical fingerprint technologies, as the fingerprint scanner is now embedded in the screen. We also get a large 7040 mAh battery and an aluminum body, unlike the predecessor, which came with a glass back. 4 stereo speakers are also here, with Dolby and AKG tuning, plus a surprising dual camera at the back, with 13 MP and 5 MP sensors.
We also get an 8 MP selfie shooter. Samsung had a pretty good year on the Taiwanese market, as the tablets grew 34.5% on year in the first 7 months of 2019, compared to the local segment’s average of 1.8%. The latest Galaxy Tab A 10.1 and 8.0 models were hits there.
Big tablets, over 10 inches with Android have also grown in general, by almost 50% in the January-July time frame.
