Huawei’s main new product at CES 2016 was certainly the MediaPad M2 10 tablet, that just got certified by the FCC recently and also unboxed. While the device looks a lot like a Samsung Galaxy tablet, the packaging is certainly typical for Huawei, looking like a bigger Huawei P8 box.
The 10.1 inch tablet has an elegant black box, with carefully engraved symbols. Inside it we find the USB Cable, charger, manuals and a metal key, meant to access the SIM card slot, since this is an LTE model. The charger will juice up a 6600 mAh battery at 5V/2A and we also notice that the quad speakers aren’t bad looking at all.
They are 1W speakers, with Harman Kardon technology and “shockingly good performance”, according to initial impressions. From the same unboxing shots we learn that the two card slots are next to each other, the microSD and SIM one, both accessible with the metal key. The device has a metal unibody case and a powerful 13 megapixel back camera, with an UI that greatly resembles the one of smartphones.
Measuring 7.35 mm in thickness, this model is quite slim and weighs 490 grams, which doesn’t break records, but it’s quite light.
