While the first Huawei MatePad Mini is not even out yet in Europe, it would seem that it has already been blessed with a successor. The Huawei MatePad Mini 2 has leaked and we have info about it below.

I remember seeing the OG at MWC 2026 and it was quite comfy and surprisingly it even had an OLED screen. It’s an 8.8 inch screen device with a Kirin CPU, that debuted in China in September 2025. With a 6400 mAh battery in tow by the way, smaller than the ones you’d see on a phone nowadays. Now Digital Chat Station is saying that there’s a small, upgraded tablet on the horizon.

It comes with an OLED screen, with a ultra narrow bezel and a 9 Series processor. Plus it also gets a 5G version. The early engineering sample should also have an increased battery capacity, so probably over 7000 mAh or even 8000. We also get NFC and flagship grade features. For example a stylus wouldn’t hurt, as well as PaperMate reflection protection. 120 Hz refresh or even 144 Hz refresh for games is a boon and fast charging shooudl be here too.

eSIM support was available for the predecessor in China and a decent dual back camera setup, too.
