Gigabyte has been into the business of portable and convertible devices ahead of many other companies out there. The latest iteration of this product line is the Gigabyte U21M, a notebook with a 11.6 inch display, that can be twisted 180 degrees and folded down, as shown below.

The product resembles the last convertible slates from Gigabyte, but with a few modifications. The newcomer is 0.78 inches thick and weighs around 3.3 pounds, so it’s quite heavy. Gigabyte U21M comes with a dual storage solution, just like the ASUS Transformer Trio revealed yesterday. It adopts a 256 GD SSD and a 1 TB 2.5″ hard drive.

Other specs include 2 USB 3.0 ports, an USB 2.0 port, a HDMI port, an Intel Core Haswell generation CPU and a touchscreen display. There’s no price or launch date for this model and I would expect even more devices of this kind to be released in the following days or weeks. Are you in the market for a regular laptop nowadays or a convertible?
