We’ve found what looks like a gold mine here: the Quasar app, that allows you manage multiple windows showing your apps. Usually, the iPad allows apps to occupy the entire screen estate as they run, but this time you can make them smaller and resize them, plus move them around the screen and rotate them, just like on Windows.
Pedro Franceschi is the guy you have to thank for Quasar, an application for jailbroken iPads. The app allows the user to resize, toggle full screen and rearrange multiple applications in portrait and landscape mode. This comes in handy particularly for applications created specifically for the iPhone, that are shown in a pretty weird way on the iPad. Instagram is the first that comes to mind and I really hate it when apps run in full screen mode, although they’re built for smaller displays.
As shown in the video below, working with Quasar is both efficient and fun. The app costs $9.99 and you’ll find it in the Cydia Store. I wonder if there’s any alternative in the Apple App Store and if you do find one, feel free to drop a comment below and let us all know. Maybe a cheaper one, too?
