Connectivity receives an important upgrade as well. The Wi-Fi versions now include Apple’s N1 chip, bringing support for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and Thread, the smart-home protocol increasingly adopted in modern ecosystems. Users who opt for the 5G-enabled iPad Air will instead find the new C1X modem inside their device. Apple says this modem delivers up to 50 percent higher wireless speeds while reducing power consumption by 30 percent compared to the modem used in last year’s M3-based models, a notable leap for anyone using the tablet frequently on mobile networks.
Despite rumors suggesting a possible shift to OLED, Apple continues to use its Liquid Retina LCD panel on the new iPad Air. Both the 11-inch and 13-inch variants remain locked at 60Hz, with no change to refresh rate technology. Storage still starts at 128GB, and the pricing structure remains familiar: $600 for the 11-inch model and $800 for the 13-inch model in their base configuration. Users can pair the iPad Air 2026 with an updated range of accessories, including the Magic Keyboard, priced at $270 for the 11-inch version and $320 for the 13-inch, as well as the Apple Pencil and Apple Pencil Pro. The standard retail package continues to include a 20W charger and a USB-C to USB-C cable, keeping the overall offering consistent while delivering the most substantial performance upgrade the Air line has seen since the transition from M1 to M2.
