The Padfone is undoubtedly one of the most original devices, combining both a tablet and a high end smartphone into one package that brings all the best features of both worlds in one place. Not to long ago we were invited in Milan for the launch of the Asus Padfone 2 – one of the best devices for this year. The new device has barely started resting on the shelves of the stores and already there are rumors about the Asus Padfone 3 to be launched next year.
According to statements by Asus Vice President, it seems that we will not see the next generation Padfone device before Q3 2013. With over 150 000 Padfone 2 units sold in Taiwan alone over the last few months, Benson Lin , vice chairman of Asus, has announced that the smartphone will hit the Chinese market in early 2013, tipping the scales to the point where he even mentioned the Padfone 3, which we are likely to see about an year after the current model was released.
We have now information as to what features the new Padfone device will bring, but we can be sure that like with the device launched this year, Asus will bring top specs and a new improved design with the new hybrid. Expect quad or even 8 core chipsets, full HD resolution for the smartphone and over 2560 x 1600 pixels resolution for the tablet.
