Chinese tablet maker Ramos showed the world its i8 slate model a few months ago and now it already has an updated product, the i8 Pro. This is also a Windows 8 slate like the first unit, but this time it’s Windows 8.1.

The predecessor was a dual core Bay Trail model, while this one is a quad core one. The Ramos i8 Pro has an Intel Atom Bay Trail processor, 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage and relies on Windows 8.1 software. It doesn’t look half bad as far as the industrial design goes and if the Ramos reputation is true, we should see this product in a pretty affordable range.

The Ramos i8 Pro supports a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution on an IPS panel and uses a quad core Intel Atom Z3740 CPU, front and rear cameras and a microSD card slot. We’ve got WiFi on board, plus Bluetooth and just for the sake of comparison, the Ramos i8 is priced under $200, so this unit may not be far away from that amount.
