After the trojan that infected Mac devices, now there’s another thing for you to fear: the world’s first spyware for tablets, PeekTab. Retina-X Studios is bragging about what they developed here, since they’re behind this monitoring software.
The spyware can be used for Android tablets and iPads and is meant to allow parents or employers monitor the usage of tablets without the user knowing. The software records the activities run on the tablet and sends the data to a secure control panel via internet. The person who’s spying will be able to access the activities run on the slate, which is a way to block triple X content for the smaller ones or unsafe sites. For employers it could provide a lot of into about what the employees are doing with the tablet instead of working.
Customers can see the GPS locations, web history, photos, texts, emails and apps installed, so basically everything ones does with a tablet. The software is not available via the usual Google Play or Apple App Store, instead you can download it from the company’s website for $29.97. Just don’t end up being paranoid spouses who get shown on TV for their jealousy bursts…
