HERE Maps has become a pretty solid alternative to Google Maps, if not even better in some areas than Google’s solution. That’s why it’s good news to hear that HERE Maps has been offered on Windows 8.1 hardware starting today.
The service is now open to more customers via download, no matter what Windows device you’re using. There are also a few improvements brought by an update that may interest you. Said update brings a speed bump, that makes the offline maps load as quickly as the computer can manage. There’s also mouse and keyboard support for traditional PCs and of course the touch support is still here.
We’ve got the latest high resolution satellite imagery available to the public and consumers can now enjoy a synced experience across platforms and devices. Those include Lumia phones, tablets and now PCs. You can download HERE Maps from right here, the Windows Store.
