I can’t believe that the brand i-mate is still here, after similar brands have layed down and died. Well, they’ve even got a Windows 8 phone out there, with docking station and yes, you’ve read right, it’s a phone with Windows 8.
The device is called the Intelegent, not the best name if you ask me. The docking station promised by i-mate turns the Intelegent handset into a desktop workstation, so basically you get all the Windows 8 action you need. Specs of the device include a 4.7 inch display with a 1280 x 768 pixel resolution, 2 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage and a 3000 mAh battery, as well as an 8 megapixel main camera and 2 MP front shooter.
There’s also support for wireless charging and inside we’ve got an Intel Z2760 Clover Trail processor. That’s the same CPU you can find on the likes of the Samsung ATIV Smart PC for example. It’s very strange that Windows 8 is working on this format, since it wasn’t designed for that. This gives up hope for seeing a HTC phablet or a Nokia phablet with Windows 9/Windows Phone 9 at some point.
