With the RIM BlackBerry PlayBook tablet finally available, it’s time to take a look at the sales. What we have right now are estimations and opinions of analysts, with Peter Misek from Jeffries & Co saying that the device sold 45,000 units on the first day of availability.
25,000 of those were pre-ordered and another 20,000 were sold on the very opening day. This makes the product a success, provided that Misek’s analysis is right now an exaggeration.. However, even if this turns out to be real, we can’t help but compare this to the original iPad’s 300,000 units sold last year on the opening day.
At least the PlayBook beats the Galaxy Tab and Motorola Xoom in sales…
