A trusted source from inside one of the big retailers is saying that the BlackBerry PlayBook missed the sales targets by over 90%, which is a pretty serious accusation these days, in the tablet war. Also, the BlackBerry tablet gets a higher return rate, in comparison with the Motorola Xoom, for example.
One should know that the Xoom has a return rate of 7%, so surpassing it is not a good performance at all for RIM. The PlayBook took off on April 19th and sales have been impressive according to analysts, but will the public stay as keen on this slate when it learns of the return rate and discovers that the device is more of a BlackBery companion than a standalone device?
Well, at least this BlackBerry product can run Android apps…
