Allview is a Romanian company that has a lot of tablets in its portofolio and we’ve tested some of them over the years. The latest such device is the Allview Wi8G, a product that launched in December and offers both 3G and Windows 8.1 in the same package.
Inside its box we find an USB cable, charger, OTG cable and manual. Allview Wi8G is an 8 inch tablet with a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, plus a case that measures 9 mm in thickness. The slate weighs 351 grams, adopts a 16:10 format and adopts an Intel Atom Z3735G 1.33 GHz quad core processor. On the graphics side, there’s Intel HD Graphics and other specs include GPS, 16 GB of storage, 1 GB of DDR3 RAM and a microSD card slot.
There’s HSPA+ connectivity in the mix, with up to 21 Mbps download speed, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and two cameras, both with 2 MP resolution. The battery inside is a 3800 mAh Li-Po unit, with 4 hours of usage promised. The charger bundled with the tablet is a 5V/2A unit. I should also mention that this Windows 8.1 model comes with bundled Office 365 Personal for 1 year, with 1 TB of cloud storage also included, via OneDrive.
The setup process is very long, but in the end the UI is fluid and there’s no functioning problem. We will be back with a review soon.
