Hisense is a brand we’ve come to associate with quality TV sets over the past years, but they also make tablets. Apparently, they make rugged tablets, like the freshly launched Hisense P50 5G model, that sports a 10.1 inch screen.
The device also has a pretty tiny I’d say 6000 mAh battery, where I would have expected at least 8000 mAh. There’s also a 48 megapixel camera on board. The device has just been launched in China for now and it’s officially known as the Hisense P50 5G Rugged Tablet. It uses a 10.1 inch IPS LCD Full HD screen and it offers support for a capacitive stylus pen.
As far as the rugged part goes, the device has both IP68 and IP69 certification and it can take some dust and water. Hisense goes as far as to claim that their newcomer is explosion proof and can be used in mines, on oil rigs and other extreme locations. Inside the product we find an UNISOC Tiger T760 processor and the OS is a deeply customized Android 11, but still just Android 11.
On the connectivity side we have 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GNSS. Aside from the specs above, we also have 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage. Sadly, there’s no pricing yet, but this feels like a product up for purchase for companies more than individuals.
