Samsung is moving fast and getting lots of love these days from fans, as it’s bringing the One UI 3.1 update to the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite with DeX support. The slate launched in May 2020 as a more affordable version of the Tab S6 flagship tablet.

It’s one of the most affordable Samsung tablets with a stylus bundled and it’s great for taking notes and other such tasks. What it lacked most of all was a DeX desktop-like interface, which is now available thanks to the One UI 3.1 update. The new release also brings Android 11, new security updates (March 2021) and one time permissions. There’s also chat bubbles, stability improvements and hopefully also DeX wireless mirroring, to a monitor, TV or even PC. By the way once activated, the DeX mode lets you use the device like a Windows machine, with keyboard, mouse and even an external monitor.

Build version P615XXU4CUBB has been confirmed by fans till now and this product also gets a revamped UI, with tweaks for the volume menu, lockscreen widgets, new Digital Wellbeing options and new notification history. There’s a dedicated media player widget in Quick Settings and permissions auto reset. New versions of Samsung Keyboard, Samsung Internet and more are included.

We should also mention that this device debuted with One UI 2.0 based on Android 10 last year, so it should get two more Android updates, part of the 3 year promise from Samsung.
