We keep hearing that Apple is preparing a big event for September 10th and we also learned that 7 new iPad models were recently certified by the EEC. They may be ready for prime time this year. Now there’s a fresh leak related to the iPad Air 4, which has its manual popping up online and revealing a brand new design.

As rumored, the device will get an USB-C port at the bottom and it also gets a Smart Connector at the back, which lets you connect a Magic Keyboard. The source that made the unveiling was also one that revealed photos for the iPhone 12 braided Lightning cable. Back to the tablet, it receives the biggest revamp since the first iPad Air came out. iPad Air 4 brings a metal body, with rounded corners, narrower bezels and no more Home button. The Touch ID sensor is now integrated in the side placed Power button.

There’s no Face ID here and the source claims that this device is closer to the 11 inch iPad Pro from 2018 rather than anything else. It’s very likely that Apple will only call this “iPad Air” and the iPad Air 4 name will just be used by journalists. It should also get an Apple A13 or A14 CPU, depending on the power Apple sees fit for it. Since it’s an “Air” device, a slim and lightweight body are the most important aspects about it. We should also get something like a main 8 megapixel camera and a front 5 MP shooter. Perhaps there’s also 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, if I can speculate.

Expect a September announcement and October store date.
