Amazon is offering some serious discounts this week for its Android-based Fire tablets. We’re talking about the Amazon Fire 7 and Amazon Fire HD 10. The Amazon Fire 7 slate is on sale for Prime members only and the discount applies for both the 8 GB model and the 16 GB unit.
Both versions have microSD card slots and they come with colorful cases, in black, yellow, blue and red. The Amazon Fire 7 tablet packs a 7 inch screen with a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution, a quad core 1.3 GHz CPU and a 2 MP rear shooter, plus a VGA front cam. We’ve got a 3.5 mm audio jack and an integrated speaker. Amazon promises up to 8 hours of mixed usage, which is not half bad.
A selling point is clearly the Amazon Alexa integration within the Fire 7, letting you use voice to ask questions, control smart home devices and more. From what I can see the product is priced at $4.99 right now and with Prime you can save $15 on this item.
The Fire HD 10 Tablet has Alexa Hands Free, with a 10.1 inch Full HD screen, 32 GB of storage or 64 GB of storage. Available in black, blue and red, the product packs a quad core CPU clocked at 1.8 GHz. There’s also 2 GB of RAM and up to 10 hours of battery life. We’ve got a microSD card slot, Kindle eBooks, hands free messaging and video calls. This product weighs 500 grams and measures 9.8 mm in thickness.
The product is priced at $149.99 on Amazon, but with a Prime subscription you will go down to $109.99.
