Last we heard, Huawei was only bringing tablets and 2 in 1 devices to MWC 2018, postponing the P11 unveiling till April. Also, the MediaPad M5 tablet received the Bluetooth SIG certification last month and now it got the FCC nod too, revealing more details.
The FCC documents show a diagram of the newcomer, a portrait-oriented machine with a large camera cutout and what appear to be antenna lines at the top and bottom of the back. This is most likely a 7 or 8 inch device, expected to arrive with Android 8.0 Oreo with EMUI 8 on top. There’s an USB Type-C port on board, a 4980 mAh battery and GPS, as well as Glonass.
Bluetooth 4.2 also makes the cut, as well as WiFi 802.11 b/g/n in 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. Previous leaks and rumors pointed towards a screen similar to the MediaPad M3, meaning an 8.4 inch display with a 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution. A Kirin 960 CPU is expected to be inside, just like we saw on the Huawei P10 and Huawei Mate 9. I imagine that there are 4 GB of RAM on board, 32 GB of storage and maybe a capable 13 MP back camera.
Don’t be surprised if 2 or 4 stereo speakers are here, with Harman Kardon action.
