After being revealed by RIM, the BlackBerry PlayBook slate has been constantly teased and detailed by its maker, through a series of hands on videos and special events, but there was no trace of price till now. We’ve just learned that pricing starts at $399, for the 8GB version, while the 16GB one will cost $499 and the 32GB one $599.
Aside from the storage part, all models will sport the same features and functionality. No WWAN connectivity is available right now, you’ll rely on WiFi or a Mobile hotspot. Last we heard, the PlayBook was getting a hardware module cavity attached, so that it could get enhancements. Also, you should know that launch has been delayed to mid-February 2011, when we’ll probably know what the iPad 2 looks like.
Expect future 3G and 4G versions to cost at least $100 more than the current versions.
