Somehow the tradition started by Windows 8.1 carries over to Windows 10: more small diagonal tablets are launched than big ones. Case in point the new Acer slate that was confirmed today for a debut in Japan this month: Acer Iconia Tab 8 W.
This product will arrive in 2 days and it runs Windows 10, based on an Intel Atom Z3735G chipset clocked at 1.33 GHz. Upfront there’s an 8 inch 1280 x 800 IPS LCD display, while inside rest 1 GB RAM, 32 GB storage, a 4600 mAh Li-Po battery and we’re also getting Bluetooth 4.0 and wireless in the mix. The slate looks pretty standard, the typical 8 incher with big bezels.
We’re getting both a front and back camera and we don’t have a price just yet. However, seeing how such launches usually play out, you’ll probably get this model for less than $200, or even $150 with a bit of luck. However, the competition is hard with the likes of Cube and Ramos offering similarly specced products for less.
