The Pipo P1 was spotted at the Hong Kong Electronics Fair and today we learn more details about it. This is actually the first tablet model based on the Rockchip RK3288 processor and a reason to get excited about it is the huge benchmark results it achieved in AnTuTu.

As you can see, it passed the 40k mark, which is very impressive, making this a beast of a device. The tablet comes with a 9.7 inch Retina Display, plus a typical rectangular design with big bezels. The interesting thing about the CPU is that it uses the ARM Cortex A17 architecture and the GPU here is the Mali T764, one that’s able to do H.265 decoding and 4K x 2K resolution support.

The device is expected to show up in stores next month and I’m very anxious to see how games look like on this monster and also what Quadrant, 3DMark and the likes will do when they meet this CPU. While everyone is talking about Qualcomm, Intel and MediaTek, Rockchip may sneak on everyone and surprise us with good results.
