ZTE just unveiled a new tablet, one dubbed ZTE V81, an 8 inch Android device with a dual core 1.4 GHz processor and HSPA connectivity. The 8 inch thing is becoming a trend nowadays, since we’re testing right now two 8 inch slates made by Eastern European companies, like Apple went close with the 7.9 inch iPad Mini and now Samsung is preparing the Galaxy Note 8.0.
Back to the ZTE V81, this slate features an 8 inch 1024 x 768 touchscreen, a dual core 1.4 GHz processor, 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of storage and a microSD card slot. There’s also a 2 megapixel back camera, a 0.3 megapixel front shooter and support for 21 Mbps HSPA connectivity, as well as WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS, a 3.5 mm audio jack and HDMI out.
As far as the battery goes, we get a 3700 mAh unit and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is the OS of choice here. The device measures 11.07 mm in thickness and I’m sure we’ll see it on quite a bunch of carriers’ offers all over the world. ZTE V81 packs a 4:3 aspect ratio display, just like the iPad Mini. No idea when this model will launch, but we know that it may come at MWC 2013.
