A new Xiaomi tablet is upon us and apparently it’s called Xiaomi Pad 6. The device just got certified by the EEC and could launch as soon as August 2022. The Mi Pad 5 was launched last August, that’s why this month comes into play here.

The Pad 6 appeared over at the EEC with the model number 22081283G and the codename is “L83”. Reports also talk about a Redmi tablet with a model number L81A, codenamed “dagu”. Considering the L81A is a lower spec version of the L81, there’s probably another tablet with the model L81. We are also expecting a slate to fill in the blanks and become a “L82”. Speculations talk abotu no less than 4 new tablets from Xiaomi, L81, L81A, L82 and L83.

The Xiaomi Pad 6 is expected to come with a MediaTek CPU instead of a Qualcomm, perhaps a Dimensity 1300 or even a MediaTek Dimensity 8100. According to Weibo tech blogger @DCS, the tablet will be a cost effective unit, with entry level positioning. We also expect quad specs, at least an 11 inch LCD screen with 120 Hz refresh rate and 8 GB of RAM. A 7000+ mAh battery with fast charge would be nice too.

Stylus input is obviously a requirement and I’d also fancy a Pro version with 5G and a keyboard case, plus larger screen and AMOLED panel. The Redmi models will probably mimic the specs of the Realme Pad series.
