A few days ago, Intel has revealed some details of its new microarchitecture that is optimized with the 14nm manufacturing process. These technologies combined will provide high-performance and low-power capabilities to serve a lot of computing needs and products from the infrastructure of cloud computing and the Internet of things to a personal and mobile computing.
With such a technology we’ll see on the market new devices that will be thinner and that will run silent and cool. According to Intel, its architects and chip designers have achieved greater than two times reduction in the thermal design point when compared to a previous generation of processor.
This new microarchitecture was optimized to take advantage of the new capabilities of the 14nm manufacturing process, a technology that will arrive on Intel Core M processors that will be available in retail for the holiday selling season followed by broader OEM availability in the first half of 2015.
