We’ve covered the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 extensively, ever since it was a mere rumor and a codename. What was frustrating is that every time we had to write about it, we used pics of the predecessor, but this time we finally have the first photo of the machine. Let’s check it out, together with some extra details.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 is expected to follow up on the Tab S3 with similarly high end specs. It switches to a new CPU, probably keeps the screen resolution and apparently also comes with an iris scanner and DeX support. The live image you see here has been leaked from China and its source mentions that the Tab S4 will increase productivity via the dock/external display thing.
The product is expected to ship with Android 8.1 Oreo on board and with the Samsung Experience 9.5 on top of that. Previous reports also mentioned that Samsung was going to opt for a 16:10 aspect ratio for the slate’s 10.5 inch screen. It’ll feature a virtual Home button and we can’t help but wonder if it’ll have a fingerprint scanner or not. 4 channel AKG Dolby Surround sound is part of the package too.
Otherwise, specs are just as we left them: Snapdragon 835 CPU, 64 GB of storage, 4 GB of RAM. An 8 MP camera is upfront and 13 MP shooter at the back. Samsung is said to have recently patented a “Book Cover Keyboard” accessory for this device. The debut is expected at IFA 2018 in September.
