Yesterday’s leak, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A2 S has just debuted officially in Vietnam, looking exactly like the renders we last saw of it. Interestingly the name that has leaked isn’t kept, as the device goes by the moniker of Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2017).
It’s an 8 incher priced at $285 and it comes with midrange specs, plus a metal chassis. Upfront there’s a TFT HD panel and inside we find a quad core processor, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. This actually sounds more like entry level than midrange, to be honest. It also has a 5000 mAh battery, a microSD card slot and runs on Android 7.1 Nougat.
An 8 megapixel back camera with autofocus and LED flash has been included and it also brings F/1.9 aperture and Full HD video recording. A HDR Pro mode has been thrown in for good measure. The front camera has a resolution of 5 MP and on the connectivity front we get LTE, GPS, Glonass, BeiDou and dual band WiFi. Finally, there’s a microUSB 2.0 port in the mix and Bluetooth 4.2 as well.
A special Home Mode is offered by Samsung on this machine, showing info like weather, calendar dates and rotating wallpapers when charging. At one point this device was leaked with Bixby on board, but there’s no trace of that here. Expect a widespread debut till the end of the month.
