It appears that the rumors concerning the Galaxy Mega devices that for some reason mustn’t be called phablets were real. Today Samsung unveiled both models, the Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Galaxy Mega 6.3, that you can check out below.
Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8, also known under the codename GT-I9152 will be high end DUOS smartphone, packing a 5.8 inch qHD display of the TFT kind. It will sport an 8 megapixel camera at the back and a front 2 megapixel shooter. Powering up the device is a 1.4 GHz dual core processor, accompanied by 1.5 GB of RAM, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi a/b/g/n and AGPS.
Galaxy Mega 5.8 will also feature a 2600 mAh battery and measures 9.7 mm in thickness. It runs Android 4.1.2/4.2.2 Jelly Bean with Nature UX on top. Taking the diagonal up a notch we’ve got the Galaxy Mega 6.3, that uses the same cameras, quantity of RAM and connectivity options as the smaller model. It relies on a 6.3 inch PLS HD display and adopts a dual core 1.7 GHz CPU.
There’s a 3200 mAh battery inside and Android 4.1.2/4.2.2 as the OS, plus there will be a LTE version of this model. The Galaxy Mega series debuts in Europe and Russia starting with May.
