We already knew that Samsung was preparing a new Tab A or two for early 2019 and now we have more leaks about the product. It may as well be a Tab E, since it’s quite low specced. Anyways, the device appeared in GeekBench this week, under the codename SM-T515.

Samsung was actually working on a few new tablets, so it doesn’t surprise us to see this device popping up. The product you see here, may appear at MWC 2019 next month in Barcelona. It scored 1283 points in the single core test and 4017 in the multi core one in GeekBench. It’ll be a midrange affair with 2 GB of RAM and an Exynos 7885 CPU inside.

That’s the same processor that powers the best midrange phones from the company, like the Galaxy A7 (2018). 2 GB of RAM sounds like a bit of a bummer though. AT least there’s Android 9.0 Pie out of the box and there’s also the potential for One UI in a tablet version. Judging by the model number, this is the 4G LTE flavour of the machine, on account of its codename ending in “5”.

The model numbers of WiFi units end in “zero” usually. The product should be available in black and silver and at least two more models are expected within the Tab A family: SM-P200 and SM-P205. I expect 2 or 3 GB of RAM here, a beefy battery, a 10 inch or 11 inch screen, but an 8 incher is also not out of the picture.
