We’ve detailed the KDE Plasma Active Spark Linux tablet a couple of times before, but this time we also have a hands on video to go with the details. You can check it out below if you’re curios. We’re dealing here with a very affordable slate, one that sets you back $265, runs Linux and it’s totally open, software-wise.

This means that the owners of this device can hack, customize and play with the tablet however they want. The specs are also pretty good and they include a 1 GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and a Mali 400 GPU. The video below shows a pretty responsive experience, the animations look smooth and everything seems to be just fine. The Spark is supposed to ship sometime in May, but we have no exact day for its arrival.

So, all of you Linux fans out there, knowing that Android is somewhat based on Linux, is there really a reason to pick such a device up. Tell us what you think in the comments below…
