Last year one of the major topics in tech/ITE was the fall of HP and Palm’s legacy being torn to pieces. HP failed to deliver a viable tablet and phone on the mobile market and they ended the life of webOS early. And now they’re losing an important group of people from the Enyo team working on webOS.

Another great migration was the one of Matias Duarte, the lead webOS designer, who joined the Android team a while ago. Now the webOS open source Enyo team left HP for Google, going on to probably work on Android or Google Chrome. Chrome would sound pretty good, since they have a lot of experience with web applications and could integrate their ideas into the browser. Just so you know, Enyo is an open source version of webOS, planned for release later this year and some of you are even expecting a new device with that, maybe a tablet.

Open webOS 1.0 is expected in September, in spite of the departures of the Enyo team. I remind you that the HP TouchPad tablet flopped bad and had to be part of a fire sale, that involved $100 prices and tons of units being thrown around to employees and basically everyone who wanted one…
