A few months ago Google announced that it was going to shut down Google Reader and people are already looking into alternatives. One of them is Feedly and a fresh alternative is Digg Reader, announced this week.

Digg is pushing its own RSS feed reader, called Digg Reader. The product is not exactly a standalone application, since it’s integrated into the current Digg app that you can download and find the reader abilities within it. The Digg CEO promises a clean, simple and fast experience and sees this release as a “production tool”, that will allow users to sort and rank content.

This will allow people to monitor the stories they follow, their favourite fields of activity and more. Of course there will be sharing, solid Digg integration and a way to store the article to read it later.
