Sony was one of the big names present at CES 2014 and they didn’t come empty handed. Aside from a few handsets, they also unveiled a convertible tablet called Vaio Flip 11A and pictured below. The price and specs are detailed after the break.
This newcomer weighs 2.8 pounds and it’s supposed to debut in stores in late February, priced at about $799. There are other Vaio Flip models out there, but this one is the cheapest. Sony’s Flip series devices draw their name from the device format. I’m talking about the way you turn them from notebook to tablet and viceversa.
You’ll make use of a hinge that’s placed halfway through the lid. One can flip the screen over so the hinge rotates 180 degrees and then close the lid and have the screen face outward. The Sony Flip 11A packs a Full HD display and supports processor options up to an Intel Core i7 Haswell, with the entry level model being an Intel Pentium Bay Trail.
There’s also an N Trig digitizer on board and a pressure sensitive pen in the mix.
