Barnes & Noble has been working with Samsung for a bit, launching a series of rebranded Samsung slates with NOOK slapped on top. This week, Barnes & Noble also debuted the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 NOOK tablet, priced at $400.

The first model spawned by the partnership was the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Nook, a special edition of the existing $179 slate. This time we’re seeing a more premium device getting this brand on top. The price tag also brings three free NOOK books, 3 free NOOK magazines and a $5 credit. The Tab S2 is quite well specced, with an 8 inch 2048 x 1536 pixel display (Super AMOLED), 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and a 4000 mAh battery.

There’s an 8 megapixel back camera, a 2.1 MP front shooter and Android 5.0 as the OS, as well as some NOOK extras. Support for free WiFi access at Barnes & Noble stores is included, as well as the ability to read eBooks for free when connected to a B&N WiFi network.
