Announced in December, Archos Smart Home platform is now available in stores for a $249 pricetag. This platform manages to offer a home automation system without wires around the house. Archos Smart Home is based on a central tablet hub and it uses a tweaked version of Bluetooth Smart.
With this kind of technology, Bluetooth devices can be used in a 20 meters range, and the Smart Home platform allows up to 13 connected devices in the same time. This Archos product can be used to control some other home products like a remote garage doors system.
The Smart Home Starter Pack will include a 7-inch Android tablet that offers a dual-core Rockchip RK3168 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, 1 GB of RAM, and Android JellyBean operating system. We get two wireless cameras, two movement tags and two weather tags. These cameras and tags will let users to monitor movement and door openings around the home and see who’s coming with streaming video.
They can also offer temperature and humidity informations. Archos Smart Home Starter Pack is available now at a $249 pricetag on the market, while the individual connected objects will cost $24.99 per unit.
