We’re still picking up the pieces after MWC 2014 and analyzing random bits of video from the show, including the one below. Acer was part of the Barcelona event and they unveiled a new tablet, the Iconia A1-830 model, that’s detailed below.

This device has an iPad Mini style format and it packs a 7.9 inch screen, an aluminum case and it’s an affordable product. The OS here is Android 4.2, the bezels are pretty big, but the device is just a hair thicker than 8 mm. It feels like a solid slate and it has an Intel CPU inside. The A1-830 goes for $179.99 and it supports a 1024 x 768 pixel resolution.

It weighs 380 grams, relies on an IPS LCD panel and under the hood we find the Intel Atom Z2560 Clover Trail+ CPU clocked at 1.6 GHz and accompanied by 1 GB of RAM. Acer promises 7 hours of functioning time out of this model, with a single charge. It also integrates a back camera and a front one, plus 16 GB of storage and a microSD card slot.

never buy another ACER tablet again. Bad support and most important of all, no OS update except keep pushing their crappy apps slow down the device.
